The World Rains Down

Now in the late afternoon of my life, I reflect a lot on the past, whether I made the right choices as a parent, as a partner. In retrospect I can see the powerful impact of our culture and society on our family, and wonder how my children will navigate their own path as adults.

Though my intention was always that our home be insulated from the demands of the outside world, still, outside pressures made their mark. When it is human nature to seek acceptance and approval, it is a challenge to resist our modern world – to strive to achieve more, to compete, to succeed. A culture which suggests we could always do better can be… a lot, and that is the inspiration behind The World Rains Down.
